The Donald Van Blake Tennis & Education Foundation ("DVBTEF") is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization that was established in 2009. The objective of the organization is to enhance the growth of tennis in the Plainfield community, especially among our youth, and offer them an affordable opportunity to learn and play the "Sport of a Lifetime."
Our mission is to promote the physical, educational and social development of youth in Plainfield through organized tennis and activities that will help them reach their fullest potential in tennis and in life. Our comprehensive programs are designed so that kids will learn how to persevere through adversity and learn sportsmanship. We believe that tennis provides character development and the chance for kids to learn not just to teach the sport, but also to improve health, build character and encourage academic excellence. Because of this belief, we offer affordable programs and accessible for every interested participant. Through our programs, kids are exposed to opportunities and an environment where they can learn values that will motivate them to be successful. We believe that tennis provides character development and the chance for kids to learn lessons that will transcend beyond the sport itself.
At DVBTEF, we truly believe that tennis is more than a sport; it has the power to transform lives and create opportunities for underserved communities. We offer opportunities for our kids to attend get-away camps and workshops and to meet and engage with kids from other communities and cultures. We foster an atmosphere where they can expand and enhance their knowledge and skills through gainful tennis activities and experiences.
